Original Swiss SIG-57 Bayonet with Scabbard for use on the renowned 7.5 mm. Sturmgewehr 57 (Assault Rifle 57) made by the firm Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft (S.I.G.). It was designated Bajonett Mod. 1957 (Bayonet Model 1957).

With the simplified blade marking the "V" above the serial number identifying the blade supplier as Victorinox.

This scabbard no longer has the leather securing tab, so would be carried using the frogs made for carrying the M1957 and M1990 bayonet.

To avoid conflict, the Swiss government awarded half of the military knife & bayonet blade production quota to Wenger and half to Victorinox. Victorinox acquired Wenger in 2005, however, continues marketing products under both trademarks.

This scabbard body was produced by the Swiss plastics firm of Georg Utz in Bremgarten (known today as Georg Utz Holding AG). The Utz "circular economy" trademark is molded into the scabbard body.

The Script-P mark identifies the maker of the steel scabbard throat as the firm Paillard AG of St. Croix.

This Swiss Bayonet with scabbard includes a leather frog designed to replicate the original frog used to carry the bayonet. THE LEATHER FROG IS A REPLICA ONLY

Features:

  • Shipped un-sharpened and ready to be played with
  • Designed to attach onto a SIG SG 57 battle rifle bayonet lug (if you're lucky enough to own one)
  • Hard polymer scabbard with European style attachment loop included
  • Extremely ergonomic ribbed handle

Perfect for the avid military collector, fancy dress costumes, movie and theatre productions and props.
